wide group an atmosphere of tolerance and respect for cultural diversity. On the other hand, the aspects that participants disliked the most were: the lack of compromise, answers, or steps towards a specific direction, the lack of site visits to community telecenters and some methodological aspects such as group dynamics, time management, and lack of web casting resources, among others.

On the document, Summary of the Workshop Products, clearly stands out the political-economic fit of the Caribbean within a globalized context. The possibility of an equal opportunity development becomes more and more uncertain. This was indicated in the report A fair globalization: Creating opportnities for all (2004) submitted by Workd Commission on the Social Dimension of Globalization, International Labor Office. One of the central issues on the topic of globalization is associated with the forms of government, which reverts back to the regional and sub-regional economic policies. This document argues: “The policies should be dedicated to satisfy the needs of people in their home or in their work place. Therefore, it is indispensable to reinforce the local communities by giving them power and resources, strengthening the local economic capacities and their cultural identity, respecting the rights of indigenous and tribal villages.” The main goal of the telecenters’ efforts is directed, precisely to this particular issue. Diverse topics aim towards the collaboration for the strengthening and growth of the telecenters as long as these support the effort toward a better quality of life and to expand the opportunities for educational, economic, cultural and socio-political development maximizing the uses of information and communication technologies. This last aspect is a core discussion that establishes information access and communication capabilities as citizenship rights in contemporary world. In this sense the question about what can we do together, allows several answers. Each one of them implies a challenge and a possibility of trying out the unity in the diversity through out collaborative work.
